Casino Royale
So what do I do after walking around the Art Museum all morning ?
I go home in the afternoon and take a Nap.
Then I completely oversleep.
My nap lasted 3 hours in the afternoon.
Oh, no ... I will never go to sleep tonight.
So off I go to the movies.... for a 10 pm show.
I went to the Mann Theatres in Hollywood to see "Casino Royale" .
I had been wanting to see this since it came out, but put it off because I had a head cold.
It was a good movie. I like James Bond films.

MOCA - Skin and Bones
I met up with LA People Connection for a trip to Museum of Contemporary Art to see Skin & Bones.
I know just enough about fashion to get by. But this exhibit really brought fashion to the artistic level.
I especially loved the video they played of furniture that was wearable.
For example, a coffee table enfolded up and made a dress.
And there were exhibits of clothing that had no seams ....
Everything was very interesting.

Beverly Hills & Los Feliz
I have the week off from work for the holidays. I decided to check out a little restaurant called "Coupra Cafe" . It was listed in the LA Times Food Section.
I had a wonderful Butternut Squash Soup. And a Mushroom Crepe.
They also have delicious coffee, and chocolates.
Then, off I went to the Laemmle's Music Hall, to see "Last King of Scotland".
I wanted to see Forest Whitaker's outstanding performance.
Unfortunately, it is playing in so few movie theatres, I had to watch it on the Music Hall's teeny weeny little screen.
And parking in Beverly Hills ! ugh !
I had forgotten that today is actually a work day. Free street parking is only on Sundays. So I had to park in a structure.
And they only validate for the movies in the evenings.
And I went to a matinee.
So it cost me $10 to park just to see the movie !
Then in the evening, it was off to "Big Foot Lodge" in Los Feliz to hang out and relax.
Since it is the holiday, everyone was telling me that it wasn't as crowded as it usually is.
A very relaxed atmosphere. With a wide variety of people.
It was a nice relaxing evening.

The Departed
Back over the Mann's Cinema . This time to see Martin Scorsese's
The Departed .
Now this was a great movie.
Outstanding Acting, Script - everything.
I am still on the Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine, and sitting in the very back row.
Then one of the Mann employees kept coming in and out to watch the movie.
He kept crawling over me to sit down. Then another employee joined him for a bit. She kept standing up and looking at her cell phone.
As I was leaving, the elderly man at the other end of the row asked me "Why were those people getting up and down from their seats all the time?"
I said "I don't know, but it was annoying."
He said "Yes it was."
In these kind of things, I always feel I have the right to complain. And some kind of duty, because now a little old man who is a total stranger just told me he was disturbed during the movie.
I found the Theatre Manager. And I explained the problem. And I pointed out the two employees.
"I don't care if you allow the employees to view the movies, but they shouldn't be crawling over patrons, and getting up and down from their seats."
The Manager assured me that the employees were Not supposed to be in watching the movie.
And he gave me a Free pass to come back and see a free movie ...
I hope the elderly man complained and got a free pass too..

Unfaithfully Yours
Hey, I didn't volunteer at the Egyptian today.
I actually used one of the free vouchers they give to me when I volunteer, and I just went to see the movie.
Its about all I can do since I am still recovering from The Cold From Hell.
The movie was "Unfaithfully Yours" a comedy from 1948.
Starring Rex Harrison .
Yes, I loaded up on Alka-Seltzer Plus and Halls Cough Drops before I went.
Oh, and I wish you a very Merry Virus and Bacteria Free Christmas !
