Donna's Favorite Recipes



Mixed Fruit Bars
Makes 16 two inch squares

1 and 1/2 cups unbleached or whole wheat pastry flour
1/3 cup raw wheat germ
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 and 1/2 cups chopped mixed dried fruits (dates, prunes, apricots)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3 tablespoons sesame seeds

3 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla

preheat over 325
Grease an 8 inch square baking dish

Mix flour, wheat germ, baking powder and salt in a large bowl
Stir in mixed fruit, chopped walnuts and sesame seeds

In a seperate bowl, combine eggs, oil, honey and vanilla
Add to dry ingredients and stir lightly, just until blended
Spread into prepared dish and bake 35 to 40 minutes
Cool and cut into squares
