2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup room temperature butter
1 cup walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups finely chopped, peeled tart apples
Vanilla Ice Cream
Preheat over 350
Lightly grease a 9 X 13 inch baking dish
Combine Flour, brown sugar and butter in a bowl and mix until finely crumbled
Sir in nuts
Press 2 cups of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared dish
Add cinnamon, baking soda, and salt to remaining mixure and mix well
Beat in the egg, sour cream and vanilla
Gently stir in the chopped apples
Spoon mixture evenly in the dish on top of the other mixture
Bake until cake begins to pull away from the side of the dish, about 35 to 40 minutes
Let cool in the pan
Cut into squares
Top with vanilla ice cream
