Time to Be Myself

Always worrying about my looks
I did everything the way I read in books
Just making sure I was right
I wanted to go it light
And I never let myself think
Always trying to find the link
After I made a few friends
They'd walk away in the end

It may take alittle while
But I'm sick of playing like everyone else
So you'll have to have patience
And give me time to be myself

Always wore what everyone else was wearing
I thought the way others thought
I might have died the way they died
Because I bought the same life they bought
And I never let myself try
Because everyone else sat around
I know I can fly high now
While everyone else drowns

It may take alittle while
But I'm sick of playing like everyone else
So you'll have to have patience
And give me time to be myself
