Listen to Me

This poem, is the beginning of the song on my CD "One Last Flame" You can view the finished lyric, and listen to the Real Audio on my CD lyrics page. Or you can listen to the MP3 on my MP3 page. It ended up being quite different then when it was started.

I sort of die out
as your candle burns brighter
I'm taking this hard
You're taking it lighter
I can only freeze, then cry
You don't even stop to wonder why

Please listen to me
You've got to listen to me

You're the morning glory
on the clinging vine
Climbings offered to me
I don't decline
But you put me down
As I climb, I fall down

Please listen to me
You've got to listen to me

You keep pinching my mind and heart
Every time my candle starts
to burn
Whens my turn

But the next time
I climb
I'll make it to the top
You won't have any say
And I won't be able to stop
I'll finally have my way
You better listen to me

Please listen to me
You've got to listen to me
