Gingerhaired Lady

He's crying
cause his mother told him
to go out on his own
He's crying
cause his father had to die
and leave her all alone
He's crying
cause she blames his father
that he turned out so bad
He's crying
cause his father once called him
the worst son anyone could have

He took up with a gingerhaired lady
According to his parents
her life was real shady
And she was no lady
And he was just their little boy

He's sitting
cause there's nothing to do
in this strange city
He's sitting
cause there ain't no where
that he needs to be
He's sitting
cause everything he does
turns out bad
He's sitting
and wishing
a different child they could have had

He took up with a gingerhaired lady
According to his parents
her life was real shady
And she was no lady
And he was just their little boy
