Sophmore Year - High School

Diane's Death
During my sophmore year
one of my classmates died unexpectedly

She was the Homecoming Princess
Now I know she should have won
She lived like a princess
She knew how to have fun
Had a stroke last semester
And she died last Tuesday
I found out about it
after the funeral yesterday

I knew she had the damage
But I couldn't admit it would come
She should have lived forever
But death finally won

I'll admit I didn't know her well
As much as I wanted to
But now I know she is an angel
with a life that is brand new

Diane's death was a shock to me
I always wanted to be like her
And as I look back
Some of it is such a blur

In Diane's death she became an angel
Death starts a new life
From a homecoming princess
To God's angel
with a wonderful new life
