Burning Bridges

You don't believe in God, and you don't like dogs
My heart beats but you are oh, so wrong
There's tears in my eyes and I'm off key
But I can never forget what you did for me

Why are you Burning Bridges
Whisper it in my ear
How can a man so wonderful
Be so insincere

You set my heart on fire over coffee and tea
Thoughts and emotions just flooded over me
Along with the ink from your caligraphy
But I am just one of your thousands of LPs

You are burning the bridges
that connect me to you
Why don't you want
to see this through

You leave without a reason
Leave me stranded in pain
Wondering if I can go on again
Nothing I can do will make anything change
I have to let you go your way
