Well, I wish I had more exciting news to report, but truth is that most of these last two months
have been spent with a head cold or sinus infection of some sort. I had to go on anti-biotics to
get rid of one. I was okay for a few weeks - then the next "Thing" that went through the office,
I also caught. I am trying every immune system booster out there, Vitamin C, Echinacea, Garlic,
Ginseng - even some wheat grass juice. Yuk ! I guess its just that time of year.....

Well, first off there are lots of really great medical and health sites on the internet. Now when a
doctor prescribes something like antibiotics, its so easy to go and research whatever it is that
you have to take. My favorite medical site is
Dr.Koop.com They have recently added a section for Natural Medicine. In addition, there are some great books out there to help you take care of your health. My two favorites are Earl Mindell's Vitamin Bible and Prescription for Nutritional Healing . Both great books about how vitamins, herbs and supplements can help us be healthy. |

So while staying home and trying to get well, I have been catching up on my reading.
I read A Beautiful Mind
by Sylvia Nasar, which is what the Oscar nominated movie is "inspired by". I thought it
was a very difficult read, but well worth the extra effort.
And the book Shopgirl by Steve Martin
, which is a fun novel that takes place not to far from where I actually live.
Steve Martin proves to be as good a fiction writer as he is a comedic actor !.
The local library was having a used book sale. I stopped by and picked up
The Stork Club
by Iris Rainer Dart,
Name Dropping
by Jane Heller and Heartburn
by Nora Ephron and Little Footsteps.
by Ted Tally. These are all books that are a little older, but they each sound
very interesting, and I can't wait to read them.
When not reading novels, I have been reading my favorite magazines,
Entertainment Weekly
and In Style Magazine.
Cinnamon the cat was very happy to have me home. She loves to lay by my side while I read, and
loves to have her tummy rubbed.
When not reading, and rubbing the cats belly, I have been working on getting my Graphics sites back
up and running. I have found a new home on Topcities.com.
I have been updating my pages, and expect to have them back on the internet any day now !
On Oscar night I will be glued to my television. Not to mention, that it will be next to impossible
to go anywhere in Hollywood that night.
Just check out this information on street closings on Oscars.org.
I live very close to the new "Hollywood and Highland" complex where the awards are being held
this year. You would think that would be exciting, but with all the street closures it will be
impossible to see anything up close. I someday hope to visit the Oscars ceremony, but not this year.
Until next time,
Donna

I have seen every movie that is up for the major Oscar awards.
Sean Penn
in "I Am Sam",
andHalle Berry
in "Monsters Ball". My two favorite movies are Lord of the Rings
and Moulin Rouge
"Moulin Rouge". I also ran out to see Denzel Washington
in Training Day
and thought he was outstanding.
There are so many great films - and great performances - this year that it is hard to
choose.
