Friday will be my boss's last day. And the Payroll department, and the Tax Department are all leaving as well.
Friday will be the last day for about 6 people. They all got laid off.
Eventually we will all be laid off.
All of the jobs are going to another state.
We all chipped in and bought my boss a Digital Picture Frame . Then someone brought in their camera and took pictures of all the employees which were uploaded into the memory chip.
It really made a nice Going Away Gift.
Then this evening the company treated us to a party.
There were trays and trays of appetizers.
Stuffed potatoes, little quiches, some kind of little fried roll thing.
I'm usually a pretty picky eater - there are certain things I won't touch.
Tonight I just ate whatever.
Its the first time in two years that I have eaten Bacon. It was in the stuffed potatoes.
And from the downstairs bar, I ordered a Mango Mojito .
It was so delicious. Yummy mangos... and mint... and 10 Cane Rum .
First time in two years that I have had hard alcohol.
Later when I was in the upstairs bar, they didn't have any mangos.
So I got a regular Mojito, but it wasn't the same, and I couldn't finish it.
I had to go back downstairs and get another Mango Mojito.
I drank a total of 2 Mojitos.
Mango Mojitos are now my favorite alcoholic drink.
But it will probably be another two years before I drink any more hard alcohol.
They say with every alcoholic drink, your risk of cancer recurrence rises 10%.
So thats why I avoid it.
But tonight was a special treat, considering all that is going on.

Sick - Birthday Plans Canceled
Ok, there is nothing worse than getting sick on your Birthday.
What I was supposed to do the weekend before my birthday this year ?
Enjoy a wonderful Brunch with 12 friends at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
What did I do instead?
Stay home in bed, with a box of kleenex, and tons of medicine.
I was not feeling good at all.
This was the worst cold/flu that I have had in a long time.
I had a high temperature, a horrible cough, and a different terrible symptom every day.
It was better to just cancel all my plans.
I didn't want to get my friends sick.
And I wouldn't have enjoyed myself anyway....

Christmas Party
Such a fun Christmas party over at The Egyptian Theatre .

Roma ... and Party
Very busy at the office... its Month End, and I work in an accounting department.
So I was late arriving at the Egyptian Theatre for the screening of Roma .
Since I was so late, I hung out even later and helped at the party afterwards. They had food and drinks in the courtyard.
And there were very many guests.

Shopping and Party Party
Ran to the Target on La Brea and Santa Monica to do some shopping.
Mainly buy a birthday gift for the birthday party I am going to tonight.
I got my friend some scented candles.
And I got myself some Lavender incense.
Then, this evening, I volunteered at The Colony Theatre for the opening night performance of "The Musical of Musicals: The Musical."
It was so funny !
They did little funny skits on numerous popular musicals.
Each skit was based on the Classic old melodrama:
Evil Landlord: "You must pay the rent!"
Young Girl" "But I can't pay the rent".
Handsome Man: "I'll pay the rent !".
They performed it in the manner of how each famous musical songwriter would have done it, using songs from their musicals.
Rodgers & Hammerstein , Stephen Sondheim , Jerry Herman , Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kander & Ebb.
After the musical, The colony had a big party with lots of food and drink.
It was really nice. I ate dinner on the upper level of the theatre.
I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to my friends birthday party or not.
But I did make it there, with plenty of time to spare.
She had it on the rooftop of her apartment building. It was in the Fairfax district .
We had a lovely view.
