Well, spring is here again! And I am trying to stay focused and not catch "Spring Fever". I just returned from a great week in my favorite vacation spot - Las Vegas! No jackpots this time. But I did see Siegfried and Roy. The lions and tigers and magic was just amazing!
CD ? What CD ? Oh, that CD ! Yes, it is mastered. Now I am just waiting for that big tax refund
from Uncle Sam, so I can package the CD and duplicate it. Every penny I get is going into finishing this
up. I admit I needed alittle vaction, but now I am anxious to get going again! I can't wait to see it in
the smaller record stores and on the Internet. (Its hard for an independant musician to get into the bigger records chains.)
In other music news, I have started looking for musicians to play with me to do some local coffee house
performances. I really would like to get out and perform once the CD is ready. So if you are in the Los Angeles
area, sign up for my ListBot mailing list so I can let you know when you can come see me perform!
I have also been keeping busy and keeping up in the Arts. The Skirball Cultural Center in Malibu
offers lots of interesting programs. When out the other day and saw an old film staring Montgomery Cliff about the life of Sigmund Frued.
And one of the wonderful things about living out in California, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
(the people who put on the Oscars) is in Beverly Hills. Went there and saw a wonderful exhibit of Movie Stills called "Between Takes".
They have a variety of events opened to the public.
I have added so many things to my website! A Go-Gos page. A Tori Amos page. I am currently moving my
webart to a free service so that I can offer more backgrounds. Its a big job, so hopefully it will be done soon.
Alittle bad news here. My dog, Diamond, is starting to show his age. His arthritis is getting pretty bad.
And the vet said his liver and pancreas are starting to act up. He's on a special diet of white rice
and baby food, so its easy on his tummy. I have had him 9 years, so its going to be a sad, sad thing for me.
Please keep him in your prayers.
Let me know how it is going with you! Keep in touch!
Until next month,
Donna
